Priscilla “Granny” Butler passed away, November 28, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born August 18, 1934 to Andrew and Margaret Lockwood on the San Carlos Indian Reservation.  She was one of a few remaining full blooded tribal members of the San Carlos Apache Tribe.

Priscilla attended school on the reservation till she reached the age of 16; when her life changed dramatically. While on a visit to her sister Anna in Siletz, OR, she was introduced to the Leonard Whitlow Sr. family; who was in need of a nanny.  She was given the chance and became their beloved nanny for four years until she met the love of her life Delmer Butler.

They were married, December 9, 1955 in Stevenson, Washington and eventually relocated to Reedsport, where she raised six children and two grandchildren.

Where ever she went, her friendly beautiful smile would “light up the room”.  The older she got, the cuter she became.  Priscilla’s door was open to anyone in need of a good night’s rest or a delicious home cooked meal. Sunday dinners were her specialty.

Priscilla is survived by sons; Delmer Jr, Reedsport OR, Brent of Sandy, OR,  Dent and Kent, of Reedsport, OR and Barry of Eugene, OR. Daughters; Ella Fisher of Reedsport and Richene Johnson of Elkton OR.  Also survived by; special niece-Sonya Moody-Jurado, Salem, OR, Grandson, Brett Butler and Granddaughter Tianna Butler, both of Reedsport and whom she raised like her own. She is further survived by; 12 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren-with two on the way, numerous brothers-in laws, sisters in laws, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Delmer L. Butler Sr., her parents, three sisters; Ann, Juana and Loraine, and two brothers; Ward and Romey.  Special nephew, Brian Moody and Great granddaughter, Ahnika Mitchell-Blondell.
