Richard D Adams

Reedsport-Richard D. Adams, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, February 22, 2019. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2019 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Reedsport Senior Center.

Richard or "Dick" as he was known to everyone, was born on February 16, 1934 in Myrtle Point to Eugene and Ona (Higgins) Adams. He would attend high school in Myrtle Point. He eventually met Sharon Longworth in Reedsport they were married on May 18, 1973 in Reno Nevada. The family resided in Myrtle Point and Reedsport. Dick spent his working career in logging, becoming a very skilled timber faller. After retiring he and Sharon spent many years prospecting for gold, fishing, hunting and spending time metal detecting. Dick was a wonderful man and had the most wonderful sense of humor which served him well until the end.

He is survived by his loving wife Sharon Adams, Rick Adams and his wife Lori, Jackie Potter and husband Gary, Gary Adams, and Tamara and Casey Hebb. He is further survived by his siblings, Jim Childers, Jack Childers, Larry Landreth, and sister Gwen White. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren; Ashley Adams, Ricky Dinger, Abigail Adams, Jared Potter, Travis Mann, and Stephanie Hoque. Dick was preceded in death by both parents and two siblings.
