IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Beverly
Schutt
January 12, 2016
Beverly Maxine Schutt, 92, entered into rest Jan. 12, 2016 in her home in Reedsport, surrounded by her daughters. She was born Jan. 3, 1924, in Jefferson, Iowa to Dewey and Orpha Michels.
Beverly grew up in Windom, Minn. She graduated from Windom High School in 1942. After high school she married her love, Ralph Schutt in 1944 at Fort Lewis, Wash. At Fort Lewis she worked and Ralph was a U.S. Army sergeant. Ralph and Beverly lived in Sacramento, Calif., until 1989, when they decided to settle in Oregon. They lived in Grants Pass and Myrtle Creek, and after her husband passed in 1996, Beverly settled in Reedsport.
Beverly enjoyed many hobbies, including crocheting and playing cards with her friends, and she loved to volunteer. She had volunteered at the elementary school for the past 15 years. She volunteered with the grandparents program, and she was known as Grandma Bev. Her family was so important to her and her family feels that she was the sweetest most loving mother ever.
Beverly is survived by her daughters, Diane Chapman of Reedsport, Judy Hahn and son-in-law, John Hahn of Las Vegas, Nev., and daughter, Jeanne Fox and son-in-law Bill Fox of Boulder, Colo.; sons, Robert Schutt of Clear Lake, Calif., Bud Schutt and daughter-in-law, Shelly Schutt of Sacramento, Calif., and Roger Schutt and daughter-in-law, Patti Schutt of Overgaard, Ariz.; sisters, Margaret Will of Windom, Minn., and Eva Meyer of Eagen, Minn.; sister-in-law, Donna Michels of Arlington, Texas; brother-in-law, Jim Haglund of Windom, Minn.; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Beverly was preceded in death by her mother, Orpha Petersen; stepfather, Carl Petersen; father Dewey Michels; husband, Ralph Schutt; brothers, Victor and Raymond; and sisters, Lilly Ann Easterday and Fern Haglund.
A memorial service will be held at a date later this year. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to South Coast Hospice.
