Carey passed away in Reedsport OR on Dec 6, 2025 with his immediate family by his side. He spent much of his youth in Hauser OR on the family farm, involved in raising, training and showing horses, 4H and singing in the school choirs. Carey spent the majority of his adult life in Reedsport, working for the Police Department until his retirement. Outside of work he enjoyed raising cattle, rodeos, attending family events, auctioneering and volunteering in the community. Carey will be remembered for his great stories and pride in his community. He loved his Reedsport family. Carey is survived by his son Beau Jones, two grandchildren, Lilly and Cole Jones, sister Nina Gardner, brother Rod Jones and sister in law Barbara Jones, Stepfather Dave Jones, Uncle Richard Volker, several loving cousins and close friend Linda.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday January 3rd, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Reedsport High School. Friends and Loved ones are invited to attend and share memories of Carey.

The family requests that in lieu of sending flowers, consider making a donation or contribution to Reedsport High School Booster Club, The Smith River Grange, youth organizations or non profit organizations in Reedsport in his name.
