Diane Elaine Kaufmann, née Mast, passed away on April 18, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on October 21, 1942, in North Bend, Oregon, Diane lived a life marked by dedication both to her family and her community.
An alumna of Reedsport High School, Diane furthered her education at Southwestern Oregon Community College and the University of Oregon. Her lifelong connection to Oregon was underscored by her passionate support for the Oregon Ducks, a devotion kindled since 1945. Diane’s interests extended beyond sports; she cherished traveling, spending time at the cabin in Loon Lake, and above all, loving her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Diane’s professional life was characterized by versatility and commitment. She managed the company founded by her late husband, Heinz Kaufmann — Kaufmann Homes — demonstrating her business acumen and steadfast leadership. Beyond this, she contributed to her community through roles at Farr’s Hardware and True Value. Diane retired on October 19, 2012, just two days shy of her 70th birthday, concluding a career marked by hard work and integrity.
She is survived by her children, Kari Mann and her husband Brent Mann of Litchfield Park, Arizona and Jeff Kaufmann.of Coos Bay, Oregon. Stepchildren Steve Kaufmann of Reedsport, Oregon and Ron Kaufmann of Oregon City, Oregon. Grandchildren Jessica Stump of Stockton, California, Chris Kaufmann of Beavercreek, Oregon, Lacey Porter of Eugene, Oregon, Ashton Rodrigue of San Tan Valley, Arizona, Ryley Mann of Litchfield Park, Arizona. Great-Grandchildren Delecia Velasquez-Stump, Richard Velasquez Stump, Aliyah Kaufmann , Charleston and Georgia Kaufmann, Crue and Dash Rodrigue. Great-Great granddaughter Adalinda Velasquez. Esparza. She is also survived by her many siblings that include, Pat Carlson, Cheryl Fortuna, Judith Karcher, James Mast, Harold Mast, Sandi Thornbrugh, Debi Lee, Mike Mast, and David Mast. She had many niece's and nephew’s whom she adored. Diane’s family includes cherished memories of her late father, Reuben H. Mast, and mother, Elizabeth; her brother Kenneth Mast; her sister Linda Allen; her husband Heinz Kaufmann; and her grandson Ryan Kaufmann. Her stepdaughter Susan Stump and stepson Richard Kaufmann.
A graveside service will be held on May 23, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Reedsport Masonic Cemetery, located at 3021 Longwood in Reedsport, Oregon. Following the service, a reception will take place at the Marine Activity Center, 263 Marina Way, Winchester Bay, Oregon. Those attending are encouraged to wear Oregon Duck attire or green and yellow to honor her favorite team.
Those wishing to honor Diane's memory may do so by sending flowers to the graveside service or by supporting Shore Acres State Park, one of her favorite places to visit.
