A graveside urn service will be held at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland at 10:30 Am on February 8th for Dorothy Stewart who died January 22, at the age of 87. Dorothy was born January 21, 1926 to Aniela and Onufrej (Jarenczuk) Skilka in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She married Robert Stewart October 20, 1945 in Minneapolis. He died July 3, 1994. She worked for many years as a certified nursing assistant in the obstetrics department of Grenada Hills Hospital in Granada Hills, California.
She and Robert moved to Reedsport in 1988 to be closer to children and grandchildren. She survived Cancer twice, was always sharp as a tack, enjoyed time with neighbors and friends, love reading books and sports especially Baseball. She thoroughly enjoyed picking any kind of berries and loved to cook and bake typically turning a meal into a banquet. She also enjoyed watching birds but humming birds were her favorite and she had a passion for stained glass. But she will be remembered as much for love of laughter and humor.
She is survived by a daughter Carol Snarski of Turner, Oregon; two sons Gary of Staton, Oregon Richard of Valencia, California; two sisters Anne Zerbey of Cottage Grove, Minnesota and Jenny Harrier of Alaska five grandchildren Leigh Ann, Colleen, Jennifer and Christopher Snarski, Matthew Stewart and two great grandchildren.
