A memorial service followed by a reception will be held for Edna Mae Fowler, 70, of Plantersville, Texas at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23, at Dunes Memorial Chapel, 2300 Frontage Road in Reedsport.

Edna was born to Fred and Elizabeth Tabor Sept. 17, 1942, in Long View, Wash. She passed away Feb. 22, 2013.

Edna graduated from Reedsport High School in 1960 and went on to study at Oregon Institute of Technology.  She was married to Kenneth Midyett in 1963 and divorced in 1984. She later married Renwick Fowler.

Edna had a gift for writing. A letter or card from Edna was sure to leave the recipient with a smile. She enjoyed traveling and outdoor activities. Edna was known best for her sense of humor and sharp wit.

Edna was survived by a sister, Julia Hevel; five children, Kathryn Midyett, Brian Midyett, Daniel Midyett, David Midyett and Kristin Midyett; 11 grandchildren, Norma, Alejandra, Jose, Christopher, Cade, Summer, Kylie, Hope, Julia, Desmond and Anisa; and two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Peyton.
