Eileen Goldie Buckland

May 16, 1945 – April 28, 2018

Our dad has waited 15 years for her, and after a diagnosis only three weeks ago she’s peacefully with him. We now have another special angel looking over us. Enjoy camping and fishing together in the heavens... we love you!

Eileen was born May 16, 1945 in North Bend, to Gilbert and Goldie Holmes. She lived in Douglas County, most of her life, mostly the Reedsport and Roseburg areas where she also attended schools.

Eileen married Clifford Lee Buckland Dec. 13, 1979. She was a homemaker and worked alongside Cliff during his many self-employed jobs. She enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting, especially time spent with her family and grandchildren. Her grandchildren were definitely her pride and joy.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Buckland; father, Gilbert Holmes; mother, Goldie Holmes; stepfather, Ralph Blondell; brother, Gary Blondell; and sister, Viola Blondell.

She is survived by her children, Gary Blondell of Reedsport, Tiara Blondell of Reedsport, Teresa Barnes of Toledo, and Norman Buckland of Newport; brothers, Curtis Blondell, Arnold Blondell, Jerry Blondell, and Kevin Blondell; sisters, Darlene Freamon and Dawnita De Leos; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

A service will be held for Eileen Goldie Buckland, at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 12, at the Reedsport Christian Church, 2795 Frontage Road. A potluck will follow at her home… bring your lawn chair and favorite stories to share.
