Obituary

George “Forrest” Huppert, 90, of Reedsport, died Friday, February 15, 2013 at his home of prostate cancer.
Private Cremation Rites have been held and his ashes will be scattered at sea at his request.
George Forrest Huppert was born December 16, 1922 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Fredrick and Mary (Clark) Huppert. He was raised and educated in California.
He joined the Merchant Marines in 1942 where he served until 1945.

Forrest was united in marriage to Dora Pell on December 22, 1963 in Carson City, Nevada. They blended two families, raised six children and shared just short of fifty years of life together.
Over the years Forrest worked as a meat cutter in Colfax, Ca and was a member of the Meat Cutters Union. He also owned and operated his own Crane business. After selling his business and retiring, he and Dora moved to the Grass Valley area then in 2001 they made their home in Reedsport.
Among his personal interests he enjoyed building houses, including the last five he had built himself. He loved being in the great outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara.
Survivors include his wife Dora of Reedsport, five sons; Carey Huppert, Randy Huppert Paul Huppert, Clark Huppert, Mike Cahoon and daughter, Cheri Huppert, also surviving are ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
The family suggests that remembrances may be contributions made to the Prostate Cancer Research Foundation,
