Obituary

Janice Christine Jessup (née Beuneman)

June 3, 1945 – 2025

Janice Christine “Jamie” Jessup passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Reedsport, Oregon. She was 80.

Born in Santa Cruz, California, Jamie was the only child of Moline and Jan Beuneman. A striking young woman, she briefly modeled before marrying and raising her first son, Joseph Langdon Jessup, in California.

After the early passing of her first husband, she later married Nate Jessup of Wilton, Connecticut (now of Clearwater, Florida). Together they had three children: Jon, and twins Kate and Tony.

Jamie lived most of her life in California, including Grass Valley and Long Beach, before moving to Reedsport in the early 2000s. She loved the coast, animals, good conversations, and time spent with creative and thoughtful friends. She also had a keen eye for good television and movies.

Over the years, Jamie worked as a counselor, manager, and entrepreneur, running both a framing business and a cleaning service. She was known as a strong, independent woman who lived life on her own terms.

She is survived by her four children: Joe Jessup of Reedsport, Oregon; Jon Jessup of San Diego, California; Kate Jessup of Seattle, Washington; and Tony Jessup of Los Angeles, California. She also leaves behind her beloved cat “Chief Mischief.”

She was preceded in death by her parents, Moline and Jan Beuneman, and her first husband.

Jamie will be remembered for her dynamic presence, determined self-reliance and devotion to pets and people.
