Springfield-Agnes Louise Rhodes-Thayer, 87, passed away on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Riverbend Medical Center in Springfield. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 13 at 4:00 pm. at the Church of God in Reedsport.

Louise as she was known to everyone was born on June 18, 1931 in Waldport Oregon to Henry and Belle (Hunter) Tingley. Louise attended high school in Waldport. She would eventually meet and marry the love of her life, Kenneth Herbert Thayer, they were married in Stevenson Washington on March 3, 1951. They enjoyed 41 wonderful years together. She spent her life living in; Waldport, OR,  Scottsburg, OR, Reedsport, OR, and Cottage Grove, OR.

She spent her working career as a school cook and bus driver, often commenting, “I cooked in the schools for 20 years", and she would point out and greet all the kids she used to cook for.

She enjoyed knitting; especially slippers, hats, booties and sweaters. She was also actively involved in the Reedsport Church of God, The Scottsburg Grange, and Scottsburg Community Church.

She was preceded in death by husbands; Kenneth Thayer and Chuck Rhodes.

She is survived by: Dorothy Fleming, Melvin Ray Thayer, Marvin Duane Thayer, Jerry Allen Thayer, Jeffrey Thayer, and Jessie and Hattie Hollingsworth.

The family has asked that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Reedsport Church of God.
