Robert “Bob” Lee Brown, 62, a resident of the Gardiner community died on Friday, March 15, 2013 at his home
of natural causes.
Private Cremation Rites have been held. A local Memorial Gathering will be held Thursday, March 21, 2013 @ 6:30 pm at the Gardiner Fire House. Family Memorial Services are pending in California.
Robert Lee Brown was born August 10, 1950 in Monrovia, California to the late Lloyd and Virginia M. (Crumm) Brown. He was raised and educated in Monrovia. He attended the Catholic Church as a young man. In 1967 he joined the US Marine Corps and served in Vietnam. He was very proud of his military service.
Bob was married to Anna Bloemendaal in the 1970’s together they raised three daughters and were later divorced. He married Patty Kenz and they had one daughter and they were later divorced.
Over the years Bob worked for the city of Monrovia as a city inspector, he went on to work for Southwest Fire Protection installing and inspecting sprinkler systems. He retired in 2005.
One of the greatest trips he made was to Colorado to visit the Wind Talkers. He shared the stories with many of his friends and family.
Among his personal interests he loved to go fishing. He was a member of the STEP Program which is Salmon, Trout Enhancement Program as well as a member of the Volunteer Fire Department in Gardiner serving on the board. He also enjoyed camping, photography and reading. Every morning you could find him at the local coffee shop reading the paper or playing cribbage. He made many friends during the last seven years. Poker games at his home were a common event. His plan was to head to California to see his girls and to be there for the birth of his newest grandson.
Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Brown in 2008.
Survivors include his four daughters and sons in law; Patricia and Gary Hobbs, Tamara and Rich Morrison, Taylor and Steve Nestlerode and Emily Brown, sister, Sue Reynolds, brother, Jim Brown, all of Southern California, brothers, Tom Brown, Kentucky, John and Cindy Brown of Reedsport.
Also surviving are his six grandchildren; Bryce and Brendon Quinney, Randall Hobbs, Travis and Patrick Morrison and the newest addition, born on Sunday, March 17 th , Christopher Anthony Brown.
The family suggests that remembrances may be contributions made to your local volunteer fire departments in his memory.
