Bob was born Sept. 22, 1934, in Redlands, Calif., to Grant Buehler and Minnie (Laird) Buehler. They moved to Oregon when Bob was 1 year old and settled in Noti. He started school in the Fairview one-room school then attended Elmira High School. His family eventually bought property up Poodle Creek Road and built a family home.

Bob knew at a young age he wanted to be a logger, but was struck with polio in high school. He was told he would never walk again, but with hard work and determination, he proved them wrong.

In 1953 Bob married his grade school sweetheart, Gloria "Dorane" Phillips. They had three children, Barbara, Gary and Julie.

Bob moved his family to Reedsport in 1969 and began Dean's Mountain Logging Co., which he owned and operated until his retirement. He worked along side his son for many years and his son is now owner.

Bob lived in the Reedsport area for 49 years. He loved deer hunting trips to eastern Oregon, fishing, crabbing, clamming, trips to Alaska with the "boys," traveling with friends in his motor home, and attending the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas with his brother and family. Bob loved to barbecue and entertain family and friends. He also loved Christmas. His kids and grandkids were the light of his life and he had nicknames for each one.

Bob was a tough, hard-working family man who will forever be remembered in our hearts and many pictures.

Bob is survived by his wife, Dorane Buehler; brother, Richard "Dick" Buehler and Marlene; daughter, Barbara Hathaway and Larry; son, Gary Buehler and Vallery; daughter, Julie Haukoos and David; grandchildren, Darell Tresch and Angie, Stacy Rogers and Chris, Michelle Buehler and Kirk, Savanna Wright and Stuart, Shane Henning and Melissa, Megan Walter and Christian; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Madison Tresch, Hunter Rogers, Mila Nordness, Thorin Wright, Malachi Schuttpelz, Colby Henning, Noah and Easton Walter, and Marley and Madden Henning.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Grant and Minnie; infant sister, Betty Jo; sister, Gail; and brother, Bill. "See ya when we get there!"
