Obituary

Caryn was born on January 15, 1962 in Myrtle Point, Oregon to Dale and LeeAnn Gimbel.  She loved her early years spent on the dairy ranch that her grandparents ran. Caryn moved to Coos Bay at the age of six and continued her schooling at Englewood and Sumner Elementary. Caryn excelled in her studies and became well known to her teachers at Millicoma Junior High and Marshfield High School, graduating with the class of 1980. Caryn also Attended SWOCC.

 

Caryn met and married Ron Kaufmann in 1982 and soon welcomed their son Chris. Caryn was as very involved in his schools as a parent and mentor. She loved making hamburgers and visiting with people at football games, basketball games and baseball games. 

 

Caryn was delighted when Chris met and then married Tasha. She was always extremely supportive and helpful.

 

Caryn loved being a Grammy more than anything else and spent every possible minute with Charleston and Georgia.

 

Caryn spent 33 years working for the City of Reedsport and 6 years for the IAM district lodge 24 in Gladstone.

 

Caryn passed away from cancer Dec 10, 2022.  She was survived by her father, Dale and sister Kaye.  Her husband Ron and Son Chris and Daughter in law Tasha.  Also her grandchildren Charleston and Georgia.

Caryn will be memorialized 10:30am on July 2, 2023 at the Reedsport Masoinc Cemetery, with a gathering at the MAC center in Winchester Bay after the service.
