Vera Hervert Obituary

Vera “June” Hervert passed away on October 9, 2021, in Reedsport Oregon.  She will be dearly missed by family and friends, remembered for loving the Colorado mountains, painting, animals, and gardening. Born in England, she immigrated with her family to the United States when she was 14 years old. She married Steve Hervert in 1957 and had 3 children, including a premature infant born at 30 weeks' gestation in 1962. The family moved from Nebraska to Colorado after buying the Twin Lakes General Store in 1979. There June lived until 2013 when she moved to Reedsport, Oregon, becoming very active in her new community.  She was naturalized as a citizen of the United States in August, 2020. 

June was the owner of the Twin Lakes General Store in Twin Lakes, Colorado for 34 years, managing the Post Office, gas station, souvenirs, groceries, and fishing and camping gear. She was active in her community, preserving the beauty and integrity of the Twin Lakes area. 

Preceded in death by her husband, Steve Hervert, 1996; Parents: Leslie and Ellen Smallwood. 

Survived by her children: Katie (Dan) Vasquez, Reedsport OR; Jim (Susie) Hervert, Edwards CO; Susie (Mark) Allen, Arabi LA; Sister: Rosemary Strong, Golden CO; Grandchildren: Susan (Luke) Shepard; Kelly Gillespie; Andrew (Vanessa) Merschel; Annabelle (Paul) Williamson; Clinton (Alex) Hervert; Nick (Katie) Allen; Cody (Carol) Hervert; Haley (Ben) Hervert; Hannah Hervert; Greatgrandchildren: Sophia, Ted, Isla Rose, Lily, Evelyn, Aldo, Memphis, Daniel, and a ninth yet to be named.
